Firefighter Hats

Jason has an excellent post on how many hats a volunteer firefighter must wear to keep things working. Does anyone think the current congress critters could throw a few billion our way to beef up our homeland security by supporting underfunded fire departments? Hell, maybe homeland security could buy new engines for US and the DOD could gather up some of these old POS engines and ship them to Iraq instead of buying new equipment for a foreign nation?

Just saying is all.
