HAD YOUR FLU SHOT YET?

Da Goddess has several posts on why you should get the flu shot. I happen to agree with her, and I have an even better reason for you to get the flu shot. Several days ago at one of the facilities in which I work, a five year old died from the flu. Mom waited too long at home, and by the time the child was brought to the ER they couldn’t get an IV line, cut down, central, except IO, but it was too late. The doctor said he had never seen a child so dehydrated in his life.

This particular physician has a caring soul and has been devastated by this event. He has seen patients die before, but when you also have a five year old, as he does, it hits close to home. We see the family grieve for a short time (then they leave the ER) and we feel for them also, but our doctor is family to us, and we feel his pain.
