IRA Plan

Well isn’t this a joyous day. We got the results of the latest IRS audit. The fourth audit by the IRS in the past ten years. I swear the TSA and the IRS are sharing the same defective synapse. We have flown thirteen times since 9/11 and every single time we have been singled out for “special” screening. We must be on someone’s shit list. Maybe it’s because we both teach college and are *gasp* conservatives?

We were just at Costco. I know, I know we had to be crazy to go to Costco on a Saturday, but it had to be done. There was a guy there with a big sign advertising the benefits of having an IRA and 401K. I told the spousal unit that the reason we didn’t have an IRA is because we are using the IRS plan. The IRS is telling us we made over 10% more income than we reported. They sent us a sheet that has “other” income listed as being reported by an anonymous employer. Judging by the amounts and how they are listed I have no doubt that this income came from Jose Doe using my name and SS number. My passport was stolen several years ago. Since the IRS refuses to tell me where and who reported the income I will probably just bend over and take it up the ass for the fourth time.

Next time I hear some asshole telling me that the illegals who come here are hard working and pay taxes I’m going to break their instep, accidentally of course ;-)
