The Sunday Rant 8/1/04

Today we were treated to the Homeland Secretary telling us that the government has credible intelligence (a highly suspect phrase when uttered by a government employee) that financial districts in New York and Washington DC are targets for terrorism. I just have to ask, when were these areas not considered targets? What were the targets on 9/11? In a statement of the blatantly obvious Tom Ridge droned on about what areas in New York and Washington DC are targets of terrorism. Well, duh!

Forgive me if I sound cynical but we are still getting daily requests not to use power here in Phoenix. I happen to live smack dab in the middle of the area where predicted rolling blackouts should take place. The Power company set up one of those annoying self-dialing messages that keeps calling me to tell me to stop using my nuclear powered vibrating rotating shimmering toothbrush. And you thought I was going to say something else.

After visiting Chicago for the first time two weeks ago it gives me a better perspective on how difficult it is to prevent terrorist attacks. The Chicago Police and US Coast Guard were quite visible and welcomed by most during our visit, but is that enough?

Upon arrival back in the land of the illegal alien it ‘s very apparent that the government is giving lip service to one part of the country while not even providing a reach-around for us here in the Southwest. Do a google search for illegal alien, scratch that because now you have to be PC about it. Do a search on google for undocumented immigrant. Oops, no on second thought don’t do it because it might bring the entire internet as we know it to a screeching halt. The sheer number of responses you would get will probably overwhelm the existing servers and crash the internet.

We here in the Southwest spit on national security. Daily thousands of illegal aliens run across the border and pretend to want jobs in America. The reality is that millions of them end up on life-long welfare. They pump out snotlings as fast as possible whether they can pay for them or not. The more snotlings they squirt out the more money they get from the government. I’m not going to provide links for accusations. If you disagree with what I’ve said head to any ER in the Southwest and speak to the nurses and Physicians on duty.

Did you know that in Arizona you can apply for welfare prior to entering the state. If you live in any state, country or territory you can apply for Arizona welfare before coming here. And it does not make any difference if you are an illegal alien planning to run across the border. You can have your welfare and healthcare cards prior to entering the country illegally.

I realize I’m rambling today but it’s such a nice day to ramble. If the government was really concerned about national security they would do something about the illegal alien problem. Some people say “Well we can’t shoot them.” I say you are dead wrong, we can shoot them. I predict if we gave orders to shoot to kill and then killed several hundred criminals entering the country they would learn quickly to stay in their own country. It was probably about five years ago (You San Diego people help me here) when two teenagers tried to run across the Mexican Border illegally at the Tijuana crossing. The newspapers briefly showed the bodies of the teenagers after they were shot dead By Mexican authorities. It didn’t make national news and faded faster than the John F-ya Qerry self-inflicted purple heart story. Google Swift Boat Vet’s against Qerry for the whole story.

I had to laugh at the local government yesterday when they said they could not release the route being used to bring the “giant 400,000 pound transformer” to Phoenix. Have they ever looked at a map of Arizona? There is highway 8, 10, 40, 60, and 72 that run roughly east and west. That’s off the top of my head. Well, we know it’s not on highway 8, 10, 40 or 60 because the news media keeps telling us exactly where it is, hmmm I wonder what route they are taking? Asses!

I live close to one of the large electrical substations where local power can be augmented. I drive by it daily. Anyone care to guess how many armed guards are at the gate? How about patrolling the grounds? If you guessed that they have NO-ONE continuously on site you win a tax increase to pay for more illegal alien health care. And thanks again for playing.

In no way do I believe or am I trying to say illegal Mexican and other Hispanic aliens are going to commit terrorism. Why would they want to kill the golden goose? What I haven’t said is that it’s so easy to get across the border and points north, east, or west that truly bad people could stream across blowing horns and setting off nukes and our government would not know a thing about it.

National security is a joke and I’m pissed to see Tom Ridge get up and talk like they are doing all they can when they are doing nothing in Arizona to secure our borders. As an example: Last month police pulled over a van full of illegal aliens. I don’t know how they figured out that a van with 48 Mexicans packed into it was carrying illegal aliens, but anyway. They stopped the van in a residential area, called Immigration, and was told Immigration did not have the resources to come and get the illegals. The police then let the illegals run off into the subdivision. This happens DAILY in Arizona/Texas/Kalifornia. It won’t surprise me at all when the next terrorist attack happens and we learn that the terrorists either entered the country on expired visas, or simply walked across the Mexico/Arizona border, drinking from the do-gooders watering stations along the way.
